A group of prominent online influencers and media representatives embarked on a captivating three-day journey through Zhongwei, Ningxia, on July 24.
Utilizing various new media platforms such as websites, Douyin, Weibo, and WeChat, they aimed to showcase the city's unique cultural and tourism offerings.
Approximately 50 participants visited numerous notable sites, including the Shapotou Tourist Area, Yongle village, a goji berry base, an e-commerce brand incubation base, a livestock live broadcast base, and the Nanhua Mountain National Nature Reserve.
The Shapotou Tourist Area, situated at the southeastern edge of the Tengger Desert, offers a unique blend of desert, the Yellow River, mountains, and an oasis.
Developed in 1984, Shapotou is recognized as one of China's first 5A tourist attractions, offering sightseeing, cultural activities, and leisure, with the goal of becoming an international desert tourism destination.

The influencers also watched The Shapotou Gala, a celebration of local culture, incorporating various cultural symbols such as rock carvings, sheep-skin rafts, goji berries, and straw grid sand control techniques.
The trip gave visitors the chance to to immerse themselves in local customs, experience the rich heritage of the Silk Road, Yellow River, and frontier fortress, as well as learn about sand control efforts and oasis civilizations that have flourished in Zhongwei for thousands of years.
Within the Shapotou Tourism Resort, Zhongwei has established four themed campsites with a total of 1,018 tents, a desert marketplace, and multiple themed activities. A vibrant bonfire party under the starry sky provides the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience the majestic sight of desert and the sun setting over the river.
