Ningxia Polytechnic, also known as Ningxia Open University, welcomed 2,852 new students to its vibrant campus on Aug 30.

Excitement was in the air as various staff and faculty members enthusiastically greeted the newcomers. From registration and paperwork to campus tours and luggage assistance, eager volunteers bustled about, ensuring a smooth transition for the new students.

"The atmosphere at the school is very festive, and the senior students are extremely welcoming. There are signs everywhere, making us feel right at home. I am really looking forward to studying and living here!" shared Gao Shuping, a freshman from the Business School.

To accommodate parents, the school set up a dedicated rest area, providing them with a comfortable space to relax while their children completed the registration process.

Additionally, numerous photo spots were set up around the campus to help students capture the joyous moments of their first day.

"University is not just a place for academics, it's also a place to develop your skills and learn how to take care of yourself. I will immerse myself in my studies and campus life with great enthusiasm, make new friends, and continually improve myself," said Ma Moya, a freshman from the School of Health Management.

Following the registration process, Ningxia Polytechnic will organize a series of activities, including military training, an opening ceremony, and a Freshman Week, to help new students integrate into university life more quickly and effectively.

Ningxia Polytechnic, established in 2004, boasts 40 on-campus production-oriented training bases, 128 off-campus internship and training bases in collaboration with various enterprises, as well as 203 integrated training rooms that combine teaching, production, training, vocational skills assessment, and technical services.

It closely aligns its programs with the development needs of Ningxia's industries. It offers 47 majors across 15 categories, including agriculture and forestry, materials and energy, chemical technology, equipment manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, electronics and information, finance and tourism, modern textiles, art and design media, and health services.
