Ningxia's data industry demonstrated exceptional growth and dynamism in 2024.
The region greatly accelerated construction on its computing power infrastructure, establishing nine large and super-large data centers, with an additional 25 data center projects underway.
This expansion includes 116,000 standard server racks, 93,000 intelligent computing cards, and a total computing power of approximately 40,000 petaflops. The Zhongwei Data Center Cluster alone boasts an impressive 34,000 petaflops.
Ningxia's communication network also saw rapid advancements throughout the year. It added 50,000 kilometers of new fiber optic cables, increasing the number of directly connected cities from 22 to 27. The total outbound network bandwidth reached 21 terabits, and 5,068 new 5G base stations were constructed, significantly enhancing connectivity.
Multiple breakthroughs were made in the digitalization of industries in Ningxia in 2024. The region nurtured 42 industrial internet applications and big data industry pilot projects. Nearly 1,000 new enterprises adopted cloud technologies, contributing to the establishment of 186 smart factories and digital workshops, along with 14 intelligent farming parks.
Efforts to foster the computing power industry ecosystem in Ningxia have attracted major companies such as Tencent, Zhipu, and Beijing Urban Construction Intelligent Control Co. These companies now provide cloud computing and intelligent computing services to over 4,000 enterprises.
Additionally, the AI adaptation base completed the cross-adaptation of four domestic AI chips with multiple large models, further enhancing the region's capabilities.
In 2024, Ningxia accelerated the construction of a digital society. It established over 1,200 smart classrooms, intelligent laboratories, and smart dream workshops, supporting the intelligent development of education.
Moreover, Ningxia built four foundational databases, five thematic databases, and two specialized databases, along with 1,768 information centers across villages.
