Ningxia exhibition industry thrives

Ningxia's exhibition industry has seen significant growth over the past year, according to an announcement released by the Ningxia Department of Commerce on Feb 8. 

Ningxia hosted 331 exhibition and expo events in 2024, up 24.91 percent from the previous year. These covered a total exhibition area of 1.24 million square meters, up 23.35 percent, and achieved an output value of 7.58 billion yuan ($1.04 billion), up 25.67 percent. 

A standout event in 2024 was the fourth China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, which solidified Ningxia's reputation as one of the world's premier wine capitals. 

Ningxia has also embraced the "Exhibition+" model to boost industries and promote high-quality development. It has encouraged localities to use their unique resources to host cultural, art, and tourism festivals and other distinctive exhibition activities. 

In 2024, Ningxia introduced numerous consumer exhibitions, hosting 25 events, including the Ningxia International Auto Show, Home Expo, and Housing & Auto Festival. These events generated a transaction volume of 4.01 billion yuan. 

The Ningxia Department of Commerce organized the participation of over 400 enterprises in 13 major domestic exhibitions, including the China International Import Expo, China International Consumer Products Expo, and the Canton Fair. 

Ningxia also sent delegations to international trade shows in countries such as Malaysia and Algeria, fostering trade cooperation and enhancing the visibility and influence of Ningxia's high-quality agricultural products.
