Ma Xiuzhen, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), highlighted the significant strides Ningxia is making in the burgeoning low-altitude economy at the ongoing two sessions.

Ningxia boasts a solid foundation for developing its low-altitude economy. It is equipped with excellent transportation infrastructure, a favorable climate, unique topography, abundant green energy resources, and robust computing networks. It benefits from the China-Arab States Expo and strong cultural and tourism resources.

In 2024, Ningxia approved the establishment of the Ningxia Low-Altitude Traffic Industry Development Research Institute and is applying to be one of the first cities in China to pilot urban air traffic management.

Ma proposed several initiatives to further support Ningxia's ambitions. She suggested creating a national low-altitude economy integration demonstration zone and pilot base in Ningxia to focus on the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, scenario applications, and industrialization, thereby empowering technological innovation in the low-altitude economy sector.

Moreover, Ma called for the implementation of the national low-altitude logistics pilot project in Ningxia. This initiative would involve demonstrating low-altitude airspace management and flight service support, using Ningxia's airspace resources to explore the establishment of a safe and efficient low-altitude logistics network.
