On April 7, a train loaded with 1,400 metric tons of polyvinyl chloride departed from Yinchuan, Ningxia. It will proceed via Tianjin Port and then be shipped to coastal regions such as Fujian and Guangzhou.
This marks the launch of Ningxia's first multimodal "single bill of lading" cargo train, which promotes the deep integration of rail and water transport and advances the construction of a modern logistics system.
The "single bill of lading" system integrates the transportation chain, featuring a single commission, document, container, and settlement process throughout. Customers need only apply for the "single bill of lading" rail-sea intermodal transport service on the railway's 95306 platform to complete the entire transportation process, achieving seamless rail-sea intermodal connectivity. Transportation time is expected to be reduced by approximately five days compared to previous methods.
To ensure smooth dispatch, the Yinchuan Railway Logistics Center calculated transportation costs precisely and conducted in-depth marketing research on regional cargo sources. The center has also taken measures to plan optimal transportation routes, negotiate and determine sea freight rates and schedules, and tailor transportation solutions for enterprises, ensuring precise data interconnectivity between sea booking and the 95306 system.
"The 'single bill of lading' transport reduces the need for enterprises to negotiate segmented transport with maritime, road, and port-related units, handle document exchanges, and transfer cargo, thus compressing logistics costs. We can also track the cargo in real-time throughout the journey on the 95306 platform," praised Wang Saijiang, head of Ningxia Ningjin International Logistics Co.
