From April 8 to 13, Chen Yong, chairman of the Ningxia CPPCC, led a delegation to Hong Kong and Macao to enhance unity and engage in economic and trade exchange activities. The delegation met with influential figures, including Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

A significant milestone was the inaugural joint meeting between the Ningxia CPPCC and the Hong Kong Association for the Promotion of Modernization of Professional Talents, which marked the official establishment of the Ningxia-Hong Kong Cooperation Advisory Committee. This committee comprises four advisory groups dedicated to the wine, goji berry, traditional Chinese medicine, and cultural tourism industries. This cooperation uses Hong Kong's strengths to address Ningxia's needs, facilitating detailed planning and targeted implementation to enhance collaboration.

The 2025 Ningxia-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference and two wine cultural tourism promotion and tasting events for the Helan Mountain East Foothill region were also held in Hong Kong and Macao. These garnered enthusiastic responses from various sectors and resulted in 46 cooperative projects with a total contract value of 4.52 billion yuan ($619.18 million), covering personnel exchanges, cultural tourism cooperation, and the sale of Ningxia's wine and specialty agricultural products.

The delegation also visited key organizations, including the Liaison Offices in Hong Kong and Macao, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Macao Economic and Financial Services Bureau, and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao.

They also toured renowned enterprises such as China Merchants Group, China Resources, Nam Kwong Group, Hong Kong China Travel Service, and Yue Hwa Chinese Products Emporium.
