China Huadian Corporation Ningxia Branch provided a special assistance fund of 250,000 yuan ($34,800) for the construction of a "photovoltaic + power generation + energy storage smart" new energy comprehensive utilization project in March.

The project broke ground on April 25 and was connected to the power grid on June 9. It features 30 kilowatts of photovoltaic panels, seven-kilowatt charging piles, and 14 bicycle sheds, with an annual power generation capacity of 48,000 kWh. It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 45 metric tons and coal consumption by 30 tons annually.

Beyond meeting the electricity demands of charging piles and village office operations, it allows self-generated power for local use, with excess electricity fed back into the grid. It is projected to generate an annual income of 17,000 yuan for the village collective and save 8,000 yuan in office electricity costs.

Funing village will leverage its abundant sunlight and strong tourism to expand "photovoltaic +" comprehensive utilization scenarios. A smart microgrid system will be built in tandem to form an integrated "power generation-storage-consumption" green energy network, further enhancing the economic benefits of new energy projects.

Meanwhile, the village aims to create a blended "green energy + rural tourism" model. Building on the demonstration effect of the smart shed, photovoltaic charging stations will be installed along the village’s tourism loop, offering self-driving tourists one-stop " photovoltaic -storage-charging" services.
