On August 20, the Digital Economy Development Forum of the 5th China-Arab Expo Online Silk Road Conference and the 2021 Yinchuan International Smart City Summit were held in Yinchuan, Ningxia.
Guests from both home and abroad gathered both online and offline to focus on the quality, efficiency and power shifts stimulated by the integration of the digital economy and traditional industries. They were also tasked to jointly explore strategies for smart cities in promoting high-quality development and empowering social governance.
Zhao Xuhui, mayor of Yinchuan, said that Yinchuan actively embraces data and serves the whole world, having taken lead in issuing relevant laws and regulations in prefecture-level cities across the country.
He said that, during the pandemic, an Internet hospital alliance had been established, enabling remote diagnosis and treatment across 55 countries and regions around the world, and serving 63 million people.
"Yinchuan constantly activates data and empowers industries, releasing superimposed effects and multiplying effects under the guidance of intelligent manufacturing", Zhao said.

Yinchuan pioneered the reformation of the examination and approval system, having built a city covered with "mobile public services", with which people can get things done without the need to be physically present.
The city has broken through the bottleneck of data application, built the operation and management system of a smart city, and systematically applied big data in public safety, transportation and logistics, social governance and other fields, Zhao added.
Yinchuan is an important node city of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as a national 5G pilot city and a national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive experimental zone.
It works on actively releasing the advantages of digital economy development, vigorously promoting digital industrialization and industrial digitalization, and continuously developing digitalization from the economic field to people's livelihood security, government services, social governance and other aspects.
The city has ranked among the top 50 in China in the digital city index.
